This is my second time staying at an all inclusive resort. My first experience was at Sandals Ocho Rios in 2004. That was memorable.
This stay was pretty good. Better than expected. We stayed in a one bedroom suite oceanview at the towers. the room was extremely clean and the view was great!
The first night we received a champagne bottled delivered to the room. this was nice but can not be compared to Sandals. there we had a refrigerator which was stocked everday with whatever we wanted.
My only problems with the room was that the outlets were all 220 V. And there werent enough in that large suite. Also the jacuzzi tub was not functional and after asking for two days to get it checked out, we were told that it hasnt been woring for some time now and it wont be fixed during our stay. That Proctored Exams for Validating Knowledge Training was a dissapointment. The god thing is that there was a whirlpool notto far from our building.
There was mention in this forum of a club that was prett noisy. That was the off premises Zanta bar. It wasnt as bad as I expected. If you were tired, the music ould not hinder you for falling asleep.
The property was well kept. Amenities were quite a few. The pools were great and the beach was awesome. Water sport were available and that was pretty fun also.
There was also a circus school which the kids at the resort enjoyed alot. it was pretty close to my room so I saw the kids have lots of fun doingthe trampoline.
Food was so so. i never expected a 5 star cuisine. We had dinner atthe Rasta Pasta (italian) and the Sushi restaurant.
I do not recoomend the italian restaurant. I had there pork loin. It was very salty. The sushi restaurant on th other hand was pretty good. The waitresses seemed to be in a hurry to take away my plates, even before i was done chewing my food. But I do recommend eating there.
The buffet is a hit or miss. Some days the food is good and others its slightly edible. But there is always somethingthere that is flavorlfull. The bar closest to beach also serves burger, hotdogs, krokets, and fries. They are not always open. There is a break in between breakfast and lunch and if there is nothing left over from breakfast you will have to wait till lunch or till the cook at the beach bar finishes setting up her station…about 12.30pm…and by that time lunch is served.
Drinks are always available. And not only the cheap stuff. The have some name brand stuf also.
i recomend getting on alamo/national car rental site and finding yoruself a deal, that way you are not suck in the hotel. there is too much to see and do on the island to spend all that time cooped up in the resort.
i will add pictures later.
FYI. I was born on the island and this was my trip to introduce my wife to it. She loved it.
We stayed at Breezes in October. We booked our stay as two couples. We asked to be near the dive shop and each other. Our room was in the first building nearest the dive shop. The second Sales Expert Training couple was given a room in the last building farthest from the dive shop. Our building was under construction. This did not cause us any problems the whole time we were there.
The maid service was great. The rooms were always kept clean. The buffet was very good with a good variety. The grill made an acceptable hamburger. Service at the Italian restaurant was great. The meals were very food as well. The menu was a little limited though. We did not get a chance to properly rate the Japanese restaurant as the power was out the night we went. They did a great job witht the limited resourcese that they had.
The entertainment was very poor for the adults. Only one night was it worth listing to the music. The toga parties, pajama parties, etc started at 11:00 at night. Too late for me.
I would not stay at Breezes again if I visited the island. They were not “bad”. I just felt that they did not justify the expense. I have stayed at better all inclusive places for less money. We just returned from a 5 night stay (Oct 12 – Oct 17) at Breezes and we had a very good time. My wife and myself along with 4 other couples stayed at Breezes and all of us were very happy with the resort.
The room was fine, we all stayed in the tower. We stayed in Rm 2304 and it was clean and the AC worked fine. There is a club next to the far east side of the hotel so if you are a light sleeper that area may bother you. For us, I didn’t get in until 1-2am so it was no bother.
The food was good, we were always able to find something to enjoy. We were able to book the Japanese restaurant twice and the Italian restaurant once. The beach grill had good burgers and chicken sandwiches to grab. One thing about the Japanese restaurant is it sits around the pool filter and that can cause some bad odor.
The service was great! We found them to help us with whatever we needed. I only recommend that you slow down and take the time to say hi and introduce yourself. Get on island time!! If you think that they are going to jump to help you, forget it. The service is the same as it is all over the island. They just go at a different pace than we do. Recognize that and you should be fine.
We rented a couple of Harley’s and went to West Punt. There we found two great beaches. This was around the Knip area. We ate at Playa Forti with a great view (see photos) of the dark sandy beach and lagoon. Again, slow service but the beef stew and rice were delicious. A little pricy, but remember you are paying for the view too. The best beach we found was a local favorite. The beach was called Grote knip. A security guard directed us there when we got lost and asked for directions to a “nice beach”. I recommend a snorkeling trip there if you can go. It was a nice sandy beach with a very dirty bathroom that cost $.50 to use so be aware of that.
At the hotel, the shows at night did not interest us at all. That is not our thing. But the people there seemed to enjoy it somewhat
During the day, the staff took us (for free) on the rescue boat they have to a snorkeling sight on the other side of the sea aquarium. That was really nice thing to do and it was good snorkeling. The snorkeling at the Hotel was really good too, especially on the other side of the jetti.
The pool was vacuumed each morning and by the end of the day was a little cloudy and sandy. That to me is to be expected.
The beach at the hotel has some coral and has a few sandy spots to enter the water. We walked down to the far west end and would stay there. It was quieter and had more sand.
All in all an excellent time. We would absolutely return with our 2 small children! My husband, my 4 boys, my neice, my mother in law and I went to Breezes, Curacao for our annual family getaway. Specialist Training The Island is beautiful and had a lot to offer. You could swim, eat, shop, relax, go to a museum, sight see, snorkel, go fishing, play volleyball, rock climb and more!
The hospitality and housekeeping was great. The rooms were very neat and well kept. The balconies was nice and spacious so you and your family can all sit out on it and enjoy the view of the beacfront together. The food was great and so was the nightly entertainment.
They have a daycare for the times you may want to have some personal time with your spouse to go to a night club or take a night stroll along the beach. All in all we had a great time. Everyone was very busy and satisfied up until it was time to go.We are two couples that travel every October for the last 8 years, we visited Curacao from Oct. 3-10, 2006 and had a fantastic time.
The staff at Breezes are wonderful and so fun to be with!
You must visit the pool bar and have fun with Norma “Baby Love” and Debra they made our stay great, you are great ladies!
Our favorite restaurant was the Japanese went there 3 times and had Clifford cook for us………..AWESOME, “GO CLIFFY” and our waitress Lisandra so very sweet, we all got hugs and kisses from her!
We had a room in the tower 2103 which was fabulous, no smells, and cleaned brightly everyday.
Snorkeling off the beach was fun and the watersports guys are great went out on the Hobie Cat with Shairon and Miquel? sorry for the spellings and had a great time with these guys!
I can’t say enough about our stay, don’t worry about the negative reviews go and have a great time! We Did! I loved the entire island the folks are just a pleasure to be around.
