Encourage employees to lead healthy lifestyles with promotional products
Our generation is so much luckier than those that came before. We grew up with antibiotics and vitamins and an advanced health care system that continues to improve and we know more about what habits put us at risk for certain illnesses. Still, we’re not all that disease-free.
For example, scientists predict that one in three children will have diabetes, which is now the fifth-deadliest disease in America. Five million are living with Alzheimer’s disease, which is now the sixth leading cause of death. While science has reached some major milestone in the fight against cancer, breast cancer continues to be the second leading cause of death among women.
As employers, consider it your responsibility to encourage your employees to lead healthier lifestyles. Not only will this help improve attendance, but being more involved in employees’ will help strengthen your relationship with them. After all, they are more than names in your payroll. Add some fun to these healthy activities with promotional products:
- Walkathons and marathons are team-building activities that encourage employees to be more healthy. Promotional products such as shirts, caps, and jackets in corporate colors and customized with your logo will strengthen solidarity among employees even as they work on increasing their stamina.
- Encourage employees to walk more and leave their cars at home once a week. Not only is walking good for the health, but doing without the car will minimize individual contribution to greenhouse gases. Underscore these healthy options with promotional products like pedometers, which will help them track their performance.
- Launch an information drive. Post relevant information in the company blog or bulletin board. Teach employees how little habits such as walking more often, lessening coffee or soda intake, and choosing healthy oil alternatives can do so much. Promotional products such as pocket sliders offering tips on eating right help encourage employees to continue on the right path to wellness.
- Organize an after-office yoga class. Better yet, make stress-management seminars a part of company activities. Stress is the biggest problem that every employee faces in this age, and while it is a reality, it is something that we all can manage.
